Welcome !
My name is Jerome Laban, I am a Software developer and .NET enthustiast from Montréal, QC. You will
find my blog on this site, where I'm adding my thoughts on current events, or
the things I'm working on, such as the Bluetooth Remote Control Software.
This is home page of Bluetooth Remote Control for Windows Mobile,
a Remote Control software using Native Bluetooth Transport without ActiveSync.
With this software, you will be able to control remotely your desktop mouse and keyboard, applications like Winamp, iTunes,
the Windows Mixer, the Windows Media Player, PowerPoint, Media Player Classic, PowerDVD
and the Vista's Media Center. You'll also be able to pause your favorite music software when the phone rings, then play it back when you hang up. You'll also be able to extend the application to add your own application.
Here is what you need to use this software :
-
An installation of the
Windows XP Service Pack 2
-
A Bluetooth enabled Windows Mobile Device (like the Orange E200/QTEK 8080, the C500,
C550, C600, M3000/HTC Wizard/TyTN, Motorola Q9, and probably any Windows Mobile 5 and 6 device)
-
A Bluetooth radio on your laptop/desktop supported natively by Windows XP (which
is detected by the Windows XP Control Panel), or that is supported by the Broadcomm Stack (Formerly Widcomm).
Note that BlueSoleil and Samsung stacks are not supported for now.
-
The
.NET Framework 2.0.
The Mobile Client is installed automaticaly via ActiveSync.
Also note that your Windows Mobile Device will ask you twice on the first start
about software modules that are not known, just answer yes. (This is for the main
executable and a satellite native DLL)
Since version 0.9.0: The mobile device can be used to send key strokes to any active application. It is also now possible to add custom applications, in case you want to control your own.
Since version 0.8.1: The Desktop Mouse can be controlled remotely from the mobile device, on a touch screen device. Just point and tap on the device's screen.
Since version 0.8.0: iTunes has been added, phone events like ringing or hangup are now bindable to applications commands, applications can be disabled,
the last application is remembered for next server launch.
Since version 0.7.0: This software is now compatible with both the Widcomm and Microsoft Bluetooth stacks.
For now, this software is free. This software is provided "as is" and I cannot be
held reponsible for any damage done to your installation that could be the result
of an incorrect manipulation of the software. Just the usual :)
Just a final word... This is still Beta software :) It certainly does contain bugs.

Some Features
-
The Windows Mobile Client on the SmartPhone : The "*" (star) key is used to switch
applications. There is currently no user manual for this application but I think
it will be available with the next version.
-
You can select the active application from the Mobile Client via the "Active Application"
menu, which particularly useful on PPC devices without a keyboard.
-
You can change key bindings from the PC using the Options / Configure Bindings menu.
Just double click on a binding, then press a key on your device.
-
You can disable or enable an application from the PC using the key bindings screen.
-
You can bind a command, like pausing iTunes or the mediaplayer to the phone ringing, and
bind play to the phone hang up event. See the "Configure Event Actions" menu.
-
A special binding is available on the PowerPoint application, which allows to display
notes for the current slide.
-
On a touch screen device, just point and tap on the screen to move the mouse on your PC, and using the Screen Control application, you can use the keyboard to send key strokes to the PC.
-
You can add your custom application. This part requires a bit of knowledge about XML and the program you want to control.
And some screen shots :
Note: Some screenshots may refer to currently not released versions.
Releases :
Note when upgrading from previous releases : You have to reinstall
the Windows Mobile cab file.
